Heatsy was formed by Lee, a gas engineer with over 20 years of experience in the heating industry. After serving an apprenticeship with British Gas, Lee worked for many of London’s other well-known heating companies holding positions including Lead Engineer, Quality Control Supervisor, and Compliance Manager.
During his apprenticeship at British Gas Lee recalls “There was a massive focus on customer service, from where we parked our vans and the way we walked up the path to how we interacted with the customer and the way went about our work. Everything was designed to make sure the customer felt happy, it was just as important as our technical ability. We even wore clip-on ties”.
Unfortunately, this trend didn’t continue after Lee left British Gas “After some great years at BG I decided it was time for a new challenge and I was instantly shocked at how the other companies operated. Everything was about profit, how much can you squeeze out of a job, what can you sell, what can you get. Don’t get me wrong, I obviously understand a business needs a healthy profit, but I believe it should be made ethically, not by convincing customers to replace boilers that are barely out of the warranty period”.
Lee formed Heatsy to offer a great service for a fair price with honest advice “I had this great training, it was really second to none when I did it back in 2000/2001 and I thought to myself, it’s just being wasted working for these companies, I’ll set up a new company based on what I was taught all those years ago and offer a classic British Gas service that’s fair, honest and reliable”.
And so, he did, with our Heatsy Promise at the centre of everything we do Heatsy was developed to repair broken boilers safely, efficiently, and honestly and to only advise a replacement when it is absolutely necessary.
